The TV stations WFMJ and WYTV have articles on their websites. The Tribune-Chronicle and Vindicator have coverage as well.
In other news, rec center construction is on hold as the contractors working on it have decided not to cross the picket line. No word on if this will delay its opening.
One thing just occurred to me about the YSU domain not being available. Students who use their CUE-mail to receive credit card statements, scholarship notifications or anything important should probably change the email address to something else if possible. Not only can you not access your accounts from home, but email sent to them may bounce back.
Bob,
It looks as if campus internet is down too, this means anyone in the surrounding apartments Ohio/Courtyard should also be affected.
-Dave
The Ohio apartments aren’t part of the campus network, but the Courtyards are, I’m pretty sure. Does anybody know how much of the monthly rent there goes toward internet?
I think the internet here is provided as a service, and thus isn’t any portion of the rent per-say but provided for free if you have an apartment here…
such wording can avoid refunds during internet outages I bet…
Thanks for the info on the internet at the Courtyards. It would be hard to get compensation for a losing out on a free service, I suppose, but I’m no lawyer. I hear the internet will be up sometime next week possibly beyond the hour a day. By the way, today’s internet hour was 2.45 – 3.45.
I would like SGA to know that the ACE people are on strike regarding ARTICLE 2 that the Administration has chosen to divide us on.
Article 2, in a few words, would allow the Administration to look at our job descriptions, decide we did not need to be in the union and remove us from our membership.
Just one more tactic to BUST the union.
We, ACE, are dedicated people, here to serve the students. We want job security and to be able to get back to doing what we do best, serving the student body of YSU.
Stop and think about it, does anyone in “Tod Hall” help students? All they do is RAISE your tuition. It’s a Staff or Faculty member that helps the students, NOT the Administration.
Help us save our jobs, tell the Administration to drop ARTICLE 2.
It’s NOT about health care co-pays and wage increases. Article 2 will bust the union, which is what this Administration has started out to do from the beginning.
Thank you
